Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use [your website], why I collect it, and what I do with it. Meridian is run by me as a sole trader (ABN [your ABN]) based in Australia, and this service is intended for customers in Australia. If you have any questions, email me at [your contact email].

Information I collect

I only collect what I need to sell you resources, mark your essays, and keep you updated if you ask me to:

  • Information you give me: your name and email address when you contact me, sign up, or buy something, and the text of any essay you submit for marking.
  • Payment information: card payments are processed securely by Stripe. I never see or store your full card details.
  • Basic technical information: like most websites, my host records standard technical data (such as your browser type and approximate location) to keep the site running and secure.

The free practice mocks

If you sit one of my free timed mocks, I also collect the answers you choose, how long you spend on each question, the order you see questions in, and optional survey answers about your background and how the sitting felt. I use this to check that every question is fair and accurate, and to improve the questions over time. Results are only ever published in anonymised, aggregated form, for example average scores. You agree to this on the consent screen before the mock starts.

I do not store your IP address from a mock sitting, only a scrambled version of it that cannot be turned back into the original, which helps me spot duplicate sittings. If you ask me to delete your account, I delete your sign-in details and profile, and your test answers are kept only in a form that is no longer linked to you.

How I use your information

  • To deliver the resources you buy and send your download links.
  • To process payments and send you receipts.
  • To mark your essay and return your feedback.
  • To reply to your messages.
  • To send you updates and offers, but only if you have signed up for them (see below).
  • To keep the site secure and meet my legal obligations.

I do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Marketing emails

If you sign up for my emails, I will send you occasional updates, tips and offers. I only do this with your consent. Every marketing email tells you who it is from and includes an unsubscribe link, so you can opt out at any time. Once you unsubscribe I will stop within five business days. Opting out does not stop essential messages about something you have bought, such as receipts and download links.

Who I share it with

I use a small number of trusted services to run the business. They only receive what they need to do their job, and each has its own privacy policy:

  • Stripe: processes payments.
  • Supabase: securely stores your purchased files and order records.
  • Resend: sends my emails (receipts, download links, essay feedback, and any updates you signed up for).
  • Cloudflare: hosts the website.

Where your information is stored

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. When your information is handled overseas, I take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected and is only used for the purposes described in this policy.

How long I keep it

I keep your order and contact records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet tax and legal requirements, then delete them. Essays you submit are kept only as long as needed to mark them and handle any follow-up, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email [your contact email] and I will help.

Cookies

I keep cookies to a minimum. My checkout provider (Stripe) may set cookies needed to process your payment securely. I do not use advertising trackers.

Security

Payments are handled by Stripe and never stored on my site. Purchased files are kept in private storage and delivered through temporary, private download links, and every PDF is watermarked with the buyer’s details. No system is ever perfectly secure, but I take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information.

If you are worried about how I have handled your personal information, email me at [your contact email] and I will do my best to put it right. If you are not happy with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
